New Database and Registrant Portal

As part of our relaunch as the College of Opticians of Alberta (COA), we have implemented a new database platform to update the COA’s infrastructure, enhance security, and provide cloud-based support to registrants. The first phase of implementation will go live on June 1, 2022, and includes the following changes:

  1. New COA Registrant Portal for profile updates, tax receipts, and permits
  2. Two-factor authentication for enhanced security
  3. New Public Directory of registrants

New Login and Password

On June 1, Registrants will receive a separate email directly from the new database with information about accessing the COA Registrant Portal. Registrants will have a temporary password and must update their password when logging in for the first time.

We recommend that all registrants log in to verify that their information is correct and up to date. Please notify the COA of any issues at (780) 429-2694 or by email at info@albertaopticians.ca.

FAQs

1. What if I don’t receive an email with my temporary password?

Please check your junk mail first to see if the email was flagged as spam. You can prevent future database emails from going to junk mail by marking noreply@softworksgroup.com as a contact or safe sender.

If you still don’t see the temporary password email, please contact the COA office to verify your current email address and/or to have the email resent.

2. How do I navigate the new registrant portal?

Please click here to view the COA Registrant Portal Navigation Guide with screen shots and more information about each section of the portal.

Next Steps

The next phase of database development will include updates to the Continuing Competence Program module and online form development. Stay tuned for additional updates from the COA.
