COA Council Nominations

Registered opticians may apply to serve on the COA Council by submitting a nomination package for review by the Governance and Audit Committee. Nominees are reviewed and approved by the Council in accordance with the COA Bylaws and the COA Council Recruitment and Selection Policy

The Council has adopted a Council Composition Matrix that represents the skills, knowledge, and values that individual Council members and the Council as a whole strive to apply in their governance roles. Please visit our Council and Committees page for more information.

To submit a nomination for the COA Council, please complete the following nomination form along with a resume or statement of interest and 2 letters of reference. Nomination packages are forwarded to the Governance and Audit Committee for review when there are open positions on the Council.

The COA believes diverse representation on the Council is essential for effective governance and we welcome nomination packages from all interested practicing registrants in good standing. The COA does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of any protected grounds in its activities or operations. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for the public, registrants, volunteers, staff, and other stakeholders.
