Calling All COA Practicing Registrants…
The deadline to apply for paid volunteer positions on the COA’s Council and committees is just around the corner! Applications are to be submitted by April 30, 2026 (note: an extension may be possible). All registrants in good standing who have been an optician for a minimum of one year are encouraged to apply!
Registrant participation on Council and committees is paramount to the effective governance and self-regulation of the opticianry profession in Alberta. COA registrants can have a direct role in shaping the future of opticianry by contributing to important discussions, strategic planning, and decision-making.
Opticians who are new to Canada/Alberta, entry-level professionals, and opticians who reside in rural parts of Alberta have a unique opportunity to hone their skillset and provide their unique perspective. By volunteering on Council or committees, these groups – who are often underrepresented on board committees – can have a positive impact on the future and direction of opticianry in Alberta!
